Gold Coast Youth Orchestra

The Gold Coast Youth Orchestra has been encouraging young musicians for over 39 years.

Formed in 1969, generations of young people have developed their talents in association with dedicated conductors, volunteers and other musicians.

Our aim is to encourage excellence in performance and to introduce young musicians to a wide variety of musical styles. We provide experience in orchestral and ensemble group performance, enhancing an individual’s private musical tuition. Commitment and dedication are developed, providing members with the necessary standards for further advancement in their musical training.

Orchestra members are given the opportunity to participate in special tutorials, musical camps and scheduled performances. International and national tours are also organised to allow cultural education along with performance opportunities.

The Gold Coast Youth Orchestra
consists of 8 ensemble groups, thus providing the necessary depth to allow young musicians at all levels to participate. With membership exceeding 300 young musicians, there is an enthusiasm for music that is rich and rewarding for all.
